How Floor uses activity
Activity sharing is optional. You can browse, sign in, contact a business and use Floor without turning it on.
What you choose to share
When enabled, Floor records which screens and features you use, actions such as opening a business or tapping its call button, and time spent actively using the app or page. Reading stops counting after 30 seconds without interaction and while the app or page is in the background.
These records contain feature names, dates, platform, app build, a random installation identifier and a session identifier. Business activity can include the identifier of the business or item you viewed. Page-entry sources use broad categories such as directory or search; the words you searched for are not collected.
Activity does not include message contents, form answers, keystrokes, payment details, precise location or contact lists. Floor does not use advertising identifiers or send this activity to advertising networks.
Who can see it
Floor's owner sees aggregate product statistics. A confirmed business owner sees aggregate results for their own listing. These dashboards do not show visitor identities or individual browsing histories.
When you are signed in, Floor can associate opted-in app activity with your account to measure repeat use and connect signup steps. Business visitor counts reset each day and are separate for each business; a returning visitor on a different day counts again.
Stored business records
Enquiries, referrals, follows and reservations are records of actions you ask Floor to perform. Aggregate counts of those records appear in business results independently of optional activity sharing. A call tap is not a completed call, a reservation is not proof of attendance, and customer outcomes entered by a business are labelled as owner-reported.
Your controls and retention
In Floor, change “Help improve Floor” under What people see. On a business web page, use the activity-sharing checkbox. Turning sharing off stops new activity collection and requests removal of activity from that installation. If your phone is offline, the app retries the removal when it can connect. Closing your account removes account-linked activity.
Detailed activity records are retained for up to 400 days in active storage. Backup copies expire under the normal backup retention schedule. Necessary, limited security and service reliability records are separate from optional activity sharing.
Optional social sign-in
If you choose Apple or Google sign-in, that provider verifies your identity. Floor stores a provider identifier linked to your verified account so returning sign-ins reach the same profile. Connecting an Apple hidden email to an existing account requires verification of that Floor account. Google’s sign-in software also processes account, device and usage information and approximate location for authentication and its service analytics, under Google’s privacy policy. The activity-sharing switch controls Floor’s optional measurement, separately from the sign-in service you choose.
Feedback
Bug reports are private support requests. Ideas stay private unless you choose to share them and Floor reviews them for publication. Published ideas appear without your name, with votes and progress updates. Do not put personal or confidential business information in an idea you want to publish.
